Interactive User-Interface Designs

My interactive design final project

Growing worlds

As part of my interactive design final project, I developed a platform for students that features a gamified Pomodoro timer app. My objective was to make productivity enjoyable, especially during the pandemic when I observed a noticeable decline in students' motivation to study.

Question

I specified a problem space outline by asking the question: “How might we create a platform that fosters student productivity while also providing motivation through an instant gratification system, without burdening them with an excessive amount of tasks?”

Design principles

I incorporated design principles such as metaphors, consistent and explorable interfaces, as well as accessible, visible, and simple navigation.

My solution

My solution was to use a Pomodoro Technique with gamification aspects in which the user can build three worlds by gaining new items when a period is over acting as an instant gratification.

The main features

  • Pomodoro Timer

  • Music player (which links to 3rd party music apps)

  • To-do-list

  • Personalized worlds (3)

  • Settings

Interactivity

The interactivity features include a timer that lasts 30 minutes, allowing 30 minutes of focus time, a music player and games apps available on the platform as well as three explorable 3D worlds.
